Established in 1960, the Yamaha Corporation of America (then Yamaha International Corporation), offers a full line of musical instruments, audio/visual, and computer-related products to the U.S. market. Also, Yamaha owns a subsidiary named Yamaha Exporting, Inc., which is engaged in exporting many products and materials to overseas markets including Japan.

Challenge:
Yamaha was in need of an application that would assist them in managing the kitting activities for the musical instrument and component side of their business.

Solution:
A PC based application titled "InvePak" was developed to provide the following functionality:
• Manages multiple accounts/warehouses
• Tracks inventory balances
• Tracks WIP (work-in-process)
• Multi-level BOMs (bills of materials)
• Work order generation and tracking
• Inventory Forecasting
• Receipt scheduling

The application runs on the Yamaha local area network and provides multi-user accessibility.
